People “don´t know what they don´t know” when it comes to honoring their pets – guide them!
Pet parents “don´t know what they don´t know” when it comes to honoring their pet´s life. As a pet loss professional, it´s our responsibility to guide these families and to educate them on what their various options are. From art work to cremation jewelry, the unique and creative memorialization choices that are out there are unbelievable!
With this, I´m telling you, don´t be shy in the products that you offer to your families. Show many different varieties of urns – urns of all sizes. Even large human urns. These are great “family” urns for those of us who have many different pet children at home. “Under one roof in life, under one roof in death!” Families love it!
Show art work. Families will want to know that they can also have portraits done for their living pets.
Show cremation jewelry. Families will love it when you educate them on how they can use this cremation urn to hold a bit of the hair of ALL of their pets.
Guide them. Show them their options. Trust me, as a pet parent – I WANT to know what my choices are!

Today is National Pet Memorial Day – are you helping your families honor the story
Today is a day of remembrance for any pet parent who has had a special pet die. From all of the pets that we grew up with to my most recent losses of Mico and Mike The Dog – I remember all of them. I remember them and I pay honor to them for what they have meant to me in my life,… the love. The lessons. The life-changing mission that they have given me.
Your families want you to help them honor their pets. Help them – by honoring their stories and being a companion to them in a grief journey that we will always be traveling.

Give your families various options for memorialization items – they truly want choices!
when it comes to honoring a beloved deceased pet, more times than not families “don´t know what they don´t know.” It´s our responsibility as a pet loss professional to have these items available and to guide our families in what their options are to pay tribute to their pet. There are so few outlets to see items such as cremation jewelry, personalized art pieces and unique urns that families will come to our pet loss operations to become familiar with what they can do to remember their pet.
There´s another benefit to you too in having a family buy memorialization items from you – such as a piece of jewelry that can hold a bit of hair or cremains. As they wear this piece around other pet lovers, the necklace/jewelry becomes a topic of conversation – and gets others to talk about you and your services,…
Give families options. Even more so – give them a reason to talk about you and your services.
